Mitch McConnell hates almost everything...
He hates the people of Kentucky. He hates the American people. He hates Democracy.
Mitch McConnell's neck
He was in favor of beating the dead horse of over TEN Benghazi investigations, but getting to the bottom of the physical attack on American’s system of government where people died doesn’t interest him.
That’s some pretty scummy behavior.
He doesn’t care.
He hates justice. He hates bi-partisanship. He hates having a fair and transparent government.
There's only one thing Mitch cares about...
Mitch McConnell cares about Donald Trump’s voters. That’s it. The Alpha and Omega. Above Country. Above Kentucky. Above his family.
Schumer reads this anecdote from me and @marianne_levine on the floor
"McConnell warned Republicans at a closed-door meeting on Tuesday that regardless of tweaks to the bill that approving the commission could hurt the party’s midterm election message,"
https://t.co/4rdSZbUMDB
Mitch McConnell took an oath to the American people. He doesn’t care about either. He cares about his job. He puts Party above everything else. He destroys everything democracy is supposed to stand for.
Mitch McConnell makes clear why he doesn't want *any* 1/6 Commission: He wants 2022 midterms to be about the Biden administration and GOP opposition to Biden's plans, not about Donald Trump and the insurrection https://t.co/IyHOAd5zS5
Fighting for the people of Kentucky...
Theoretically, a State elects a Senator who will serve their interests in the Senate. Not so with Kentucky. They just re-elected Mitch McConnell. Let’s remember that Kentucky ranks #44 in health care. #40 in economy. #48 in fiscal stability. #38 in education.
And what does the leader of Kentucky do for his citizens? He blocks the vote on bill to send his constituents a $2,000 check. He has blocked HR 1, the voting rights act even though over 70% of all Americans are in favor of it. He has blocked background checks for guns. California just had its latest mass shooting.
There it is. McConnell blocks motion to vote on Democrats' $2,000 relief checks bill. https://t.co/iYceWbNxiU
“Republicans are never going to vote for anything that Biden wants to do. Mitch McConnell says he's 100% focused on blocking the Biden agenda. Credit him for telling the truth,” @maddow says as Democrats prepare to pass an infrastructure package alone. https://t.co/ruJgAn9CpT
...and why?...
"There's no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day, no question about it." That was Mitch McConnell on Feb. 13. Now? He just wants to skip a Congressional investigation and move on.⬇️ https://t.co/oDxQGTOUBH
Like so many other Republicans, Mitch McConnell has been abused severely by Donald Trump, and yet he is lock step with the man who makes him look like a spineless, sycophant. He will be seen by history as a man of no integrity, and he doesn’t care. The power and the money are more important than his worth as a human being.
Trump has destroyed McConnell while he was still allowed on social media. He insulted him in the most personal ways. “If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a bitch Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen….“ “I hired his wife. Did he ever say thank you?” Trump said. He later called McConnell a “stone cold loser.”
Like an abused dog, Mitch McConnell returns to Trump every time. Putting his head on his lap and wagging his tail.
Let me remind everyone that Donald Trump was a one-term President, who lost both the Senate and the House. The last time anyone did so poorly was 1932.
But the Democrats are in the majority!...
And there’s that pesky little thing called the filibuster. The Trump Party (there is no more Republican Party), has the ammunition of the filibuster and they will block everything that will aid the American people. Because that’s who they are.
Unless the Democrats got rid of the filibuster. Logical, you may say.
Well, then there’s Joe Manchin. Sooner or later, he’ll have to conclude that there’s no negotiating when McConnell has a 100 percent focus on obstruction.
Joe Manchin is afraid of Donald Trump as much, if not more, than any Republican.
Just asked Sen. Joe Manchin if he would invoke the nuclear option to blow up the filibuster if Republicans block the Jan. 6 commission bill.
“No,” he told me. “I can’t take the fallout.”
Very sad.
Joe Manchin knows he can’t get ten Republicans to do the right thing. If I know it, he has to know it. But it doesn’t matter to him. For him, as with his Republican compadres, his job and paycheck are the most important things to him.
Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema just released a statement in which they "implore" Republicans to work with them to examine Jan. 6th.
Until Democrats accept that Republicans are deeply implicated in what happened, and that most want to cover this up, we're not getting anywhere. https://t.co/aki8ZZ1Rh9
Will things change? Will Mitch McConnell stop being a dick? Will Joe Manchin come around and act like a Democrat?
It could happen.
In the meantime…get some ice cream. You’ll feel better.
